Chef Larry Schepici is an internationally trained and highly acclaimed culinar y master who now does most of his cooking for the appreciative patrons of his three establishments in Historic Downtown TROY.NY. With over 25 years of culinary experience, he has showcased his talents at many fine restaurants and earned numerous awards. In addition to winning Gold, Silver, and Bronze, he has been voted Chef of the Year by the American Culinary Federation. Representing the United States, he won a Bronze Medal at the Hotelympia 2000 Salon Culinaire “Master Chefs Grand Prix,”a prestigious international competition including chefs from France, Turkey, Ireland, Scotland, and Italy. In the never ending pursuit for culinary education and to keep up with the hottest new trends, for the last several years, Chef Larry has attended the Professional Chef Program at the prestigious Culinary Institute of America. He has also traveled to Europe to explore and master new and classic techniques and flavors. His experience includes the four-star restaurant Raffael’s in Boston, The Hawk and the Basin Restaurant in Vermont. While executive chef of Sargo’s at Saratoga National Golf Club, Larry earned the 2003 Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator Magazine. At the Tavern at Sterup Square, located outside Troy, he won the prestigious DiRonA Award of excellence for four consecutive years.
