After traveling the country and living out West, native Sandra Sweeney has returned home and rooted her business, The Spinning Seed, here in downtown Troy. As a trained Designer and Fine Art graduate of The Sage Colleges she has taken her freelance design office and encompassed it with her vision for our areas "good conscious" retail store. She is proud of her opportunities to travel and explore the downtown districts of many great cities and live in those communities that support their small businesses and art community. She can now proudly do so here in historic downtown Troy both as a business owner and community supporter.
Since her return in 2005 she has participated in the Capital Districts up and coming monthly art walks both as an exhibiting artist and curator. She has been Gallery Manager for the Exposed Gallery of Fine Art Photography and was a proud part of the upstate edition of Chronogram Magazine. She is now proprietress of an eco-friendly goods store here on River Street and a member of Capital District Local First. She has made it her mission to encourage consumers to spend locally, buy US made whenever possible and select planet friendly products. Her design clients have included Old World Provisions, Brooks BBQ, Frank Adams Jewelers and many other local, independent businesses. She can be found daily, hard at work in her shop at 272 River Street. You may even bump into her while grabbing a pint at Browns, where she works as a part time server.
She hopes you stop in to say hello and stay to explore the many other fantastic shops and restaurants here in downtown Troy. Visit The Spinning Seeds website at www.thespinningseed.com
